Abstract
Reflecting on the nature of the character of the Infallibles (peace be upon them) indicates that the basis of their actions in confronting the enemy's cognitive war was intellectual activities and their influence on the field of knowledge and perception of society. Some of these actions can be discussed and examined in the form of defensive confrontation. Therefore, our attempt in this research is to study the type of confrontation of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) with the cognitive war of the Umayyad false front as an objective historical example in this field, using the approach of historical study and the method of comparative analysis, and to extract the character of that Imam in cognitive defense. Historical data in this field indicate that Imam Ali (peace be upon him) pursued this important matter in the form of strategies such as: "providing prerequisites and preventive measures", "utilizing social capital", "protecting society from intellectual deviations and strengthening correct ideology" and "neutralizing the policy of prohibiting the dissemination of correct data and information".
