Abstract

The expression "Al-Jafat al-Tagham" is used in three sermons of Nahj al-Balagha, addressed to the people of Syria. Imam Ali (a.s.) has placed this group as a group of thugs and thugs, whose only unity has led to their victory. The noteworthy point is the use of Jafat Tagham in two ways, known and rejected, and the surprise of Imam Ali (AS) in this sermon that Jafat Tagham obeyed Mu'awiya even without receiving "aid". About this ratio, commentators have limited Imam's (AS) surprise only to obedience without gift. Some commentators have considered the literal meaning as reward and pension, but they have expressed their surprise that it is impossible that Muawiyah did not give gifts to the soldiers. The analysis of some is that the aid means payments in excess of the monthly salary, which is dedicated to the treatment of soldiers and the repair of weapons. This research has recognized the concept of Jafattagham by descriptive-analytical method and focusing on the way of Muawiya's rule. In the end, the conclusion was reached that any high-ranking or low-ranking group that ignored the authority, loyalty and obedience to the authority of Hazrat Ali (a.s.), thought of seizing power or protested the Imam's economic and political policies, would destabilize the situation and disrupt the security of the cities. All of them are included in the list of "Al-Jafat al-Tagham".
